NMLS is being rebuilt on a more modern platform in order to improve its operations, enhance the user experience, and strengthen supervision. The NMLS 2.0 Stakeholder Engagement Process is intended to develop the vision, concepts, and relevant policy issues to support the development process. NMLS 2.0 is governed by the SRR Board of Managers and the NMLS Policy Committee, and directed by the NMLS 2.0 Steering Committee. The goals and guiding principles of this modernization effort can be found here: NMLS 2.0 Guiding Principles.

Welcome to the next iteration of maps!  Comments that were submitted by e-mail have been posted in the group and are also undergoing review. 

We are seeking comments on two more maps: #11 Federal Registration (Institution), and #13 Federal Renewal (Institution).

Welcome to the next iteration of maps!  Comments from the first maps have been captured and are undergoing review.  Responses to comments will be posted in a few days.

We are seeking comments on six maps:#15 Account Creation, #38 Company/Branch Setup, #37 Control Person Pre-Licensure Requirements, #2 License Filing Submission for Company/Branch, #5 Renewals for Company/Branch, and #4 License Filing Submission for Sole Proprietor.

The intent of the Surety User Personas is to define specific user types and capture the goals, pain points, and expected behaviors. Your feedback will help us better understand your organization's interaction with NMLS as we develop NMLS 2.0.    
NMLS 2.0 Journey Maps: Individual (MLO) License Application and Renewal

  • State Licensed Mortgage Loan Originators (MLOs)

These "Journey maps" display the steps required to be completed as part of an MLO license application. The journey maps show the typical steps taken by an individual (MLO) to submit the filing for an individual license, and then the eventual renewal of the license. Are the steps in this process captured correctly? Do you have thoughts about how the process can be easier or more efficient?

The intent of the Journey Map is to provide a more holistic view of end-to-end experiences while also displaying the important intersections between different user groups along the way.
