 Uniform Authorized Agent Reporting

 Overview

The NMLS Uniform Authorized Agent Reporting (UAAR) process allows licensed money service businesses to file a single, uniform report of their authorized agent (also known as authorized delegates) locations through NMLS to all participating state agencies. Reporting through NMLS replaces these states’ reporting requirements.

This functionality is ONLY for licensed money transmitters and money service businesses who are directed by their regulator to use this functionality.

** UAAR FUNCTIONALITY IS BEING USED IN SELECTED STATES - LICENSEES SHOULD NOT USE THIS FUNCTIONALITY UNTIL DIRECTED TO DO SO BY THEIR REGULATOR **

 Getting Started

1.  Determine if your company is required to use this reporting process.

2.  Learn about the UAAR reporting process.

3.  Begin collecting authorized agent location information and preparing for your company’s first upload.

  • Make sure the physical address for each agent location is recognized by the United States Postal System.
  • Use the Agent Upload File Template to begin building your initial upload.

4.  Submit your company’s initial Uniform Authorized Agent Report upload.

5.  Review the Upload Results File and correct any errors.

  • Once a file is processed by NMLS, you will receive an email notification from NMLS alerting you that either the file successfully processed, or there were formatting or validation errors that require your attention.
  • If there are errors, review them, make the appropriate corrections them and resubmit the entire file.
The Upload File Specifications and Validation Errors contains information on errors you may receive and how to address them.
  • When you receive notification that the NMLS has successfully processed the file, you have completed the upload of authorized agent location information.
