Continuing Education (CE) License Items Placed

NMLS placed a license item on every mortgage loan originator (MLO) license for MLOs who have not yet fulfilled their CE requirement for 2019. This license item does NOT impact an MLO’s current license status or the ability to originate loans. It is simply a reminder to complete CE this calendar year.

Request for Agenda Items: Ombudsman Meeting at the 2019 AARMR Annual Regulatory Conference

An open meeting with the NMLS Ombudsman will be held Thursday, August 8, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. PT, in conjunction with the 2019 AARMR Annual Regulatory Conference in San Diego, California. Conference registration is not required to attend the meeting. Suggested agenda items regarding NMLS, state licensing, and/or federal registration will be accepted. Please provide the issue and any relevant information on your company's letterhead. Individuals who submit discussion items must attend the meeting to present their issues. Submit agenda items by emailing ombudsman@nmls.org no later than COB Friday, July 12

 

Virginia Bureau of Financial Institutions Adds Money Service Business Industry to NMLS July 15, 2019

NMLS is now receiving new application and transition filings for the Virginia Bureau of Financial Institutions’ Money Order Seller and Money Transmitter License. New applicants and existing licensees are now able to submit these records through NMLS.

Note: Companies holding these license types are required to submit a license transition request through NMLS by filing a Company Form (MU1) and an Individual Form (MU2) for each of their control persons by September 1, 2019. Click here for more information.

South Dakota Division of Banking Adds Non-Residential Mortgage Lender License to NMLS July 15, 2019

NMLS is now receiving new application and transition filings for the South Dakota Division of Banking’s Non-Residential Mortgage Lender License. New applicants and existing licensees are now able to submit these records through NMLS.

Idaho Department of Finance Offering Military Priority to New Individual License Applicants

Beginning July 1, 2019, the Idaho Department of Finance began offering priority reviews of new individual license applications to qualifying military members, veterans and spouses. This process applies to mortgage loan originators (MU4) and sole proprietors (MU1) only. Refer to the license descriptions and checklists for more information.

Indiana Secretary of State Updated Checklists Due to Legislative Changes and Adds the Loan Processing Company Registration to NMLS July 1, 2019

NMLS is now receiving new application filings for the Indiana Secretary of State Loan Processing Company Registration. New applicants are now able to submit these records through NMLS.


On July 1, 2019, legislative changes regarding the loan brokerage industry went into effect.  For more information, please see the Compliance Alert dated June 3, 2019.  Additionally, please read the new Indiana Code​ in its entirety.

Updates have been made on the appropriate checklists through NMLS.
